Welcome to the Chico Creek Nature Center, the gateway and official information center for Bidwell Park.

Summer Camp starts June 10, 2013!

Held at the Chico Creek Nature Center in the heart of Bidwell Park, Camp Chico Creek consists of ten one-week sessions of environmental education camp for children 5-11 years old.  The program is designed to provide outdoor recreation and to foster awareness of nature in a fun, safe, and caring setting.  Themes covering the park’s habitats and its natural and cultural history are presented to campers through guided nature walks, lab activities, presentations of the Nature Center’s live animals, arts and crafts and swimming in Big Chico Creek. As the official information center for Bidwell Park, the Chico Creek Nature Center offers

people of all ages a place to interact with nature, discover Bidwell Park’s diverse ecosystems and learn about preserving this natural resource.

The Nature Center’s programs include preschool-age workshops, nature-themed birthday parties, exploration-oriented day camps, and K-6 grade Environmental Education field trips designed to meet the science standards for California public schools.

The mission of the Chico Creek Nature Center is to enhance the quality of all life by promoting understanding, awareness, appreciation, and knowledge of our environment through environmental education in Bidwell Park.
